Shape & Size:
Indonesian beads are of small sizes compared to Nepalese beads, and they miss the proper protrusions from their body. Beads from Nepal are large, round with deep and well defined faces. Barring 1 mukhi, both Nepal and Indonesian beads have similar shape. 2 mukhi and 3 mukhi are bit elliptical, 4 mukhi to 7 mukhi are near round shape and 9 mukhi to 21 mukhi are near oval in shape. 1 Mukhi from Indonesia is elliptical in shape whereas 1mukhi from Nepal( Sawar) looks like Gauri Shankar. 1 Mukhi from India comes in half moon as well as oval shape. The size of Indian rudraksha is similar to size of Nepalese counterpart.
Rudraksha is natural product. It is seed of fruit. Depending on soil and climatic conditions the trees are grown up with, the shape and size of Rudraksha is different in different regions. This is a natural process.
Indonesian beads have smooth surface. Faces/mukhi lines are normally as white thread lines from top to bottom. The mukhs/faces are not deep as in Nepal beads.
Cost & Availability:
Recently demand of Nepal Rudraksha has increased in countries like China and USA. This has increased the price of Nepal beads. Indonesian prices have been slowly picking up but not at same pace.
In general, the law of demand states that the quantity demanded and the price of a good or service is inversely related, other things remaining constant. Since approximately 70% Rudraksha production is in Indonesia compared to approximately 25% in Nepal, Beads from Indonesia are easily available and hence cheaper. Price of a rudraksha bead is directly proportional to its availability. For example 2 mukhi/14 mukhi / 21 mukhi etc from Nepal are rare beads and cost very high.
Indonesian beads have been enjoying edge over Nepal beads for long especially in case of higher mukhi i.e. 14 to 21 Mukhi.
Rudraksha trees in India normally produce 1,2 & 3 mukhi. They are chepaer compared to Nepali beads.
It is important to note that in Indian beads natural holes is not present that primarily distinguishes itself from Nepali and Indonesian beads. As per Shiva Puran beads with natural holes are best.
Depends more on supplier rather than origin. However there are less chances of getting fake beads from Indonesia compared to Nepal, as they are easily available.
Nepal beads normally weigh more.
As explained above Rudraksha is a natural product and its shape varying on climatic conditions more.
